Rachel Smiley is a recent graduate from the Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science. In California, Rachel earned her bachelor’s of art degree from Scripps College and master’s degree in music at Cal State Long Beach before moving to New York. Her LIS degree focused on digital content management and performing arts librarianship, combining her passions for music, theatre arts, education, and archival research.
Rachel’s past professional opportunities included library assistantships and archival internships in academic and music libraries. Notable academic projects include grey literature outreach, art museum usability testing, and providing reference services to information-poor patrons.
At EdLab, Rachel looks forward to advancing arts education in schools and exploring technological advances in education outreach.
