Yue Fang doesn't like to go on an conventional path. She follows her genuine interest in almost everything, and above all, people and connecting with people in a deep way. She is always learning something new, never gets bored and has to fight against the fear of unknown and being different very often.
When she was studying horticulture in Beijing, she started to think seriously about what and how to learn and she didn't have an answer, after 14 years' schooling. A bus encounter with an school administrator led her an internship at Tsinghua International School and then graduate studies at Bank Street College of Education in Leadership In Community-based Learning. During her studies, she picked up the piano and filmmaking, worked as an intern at HBO and served as a UN youth representative, all of which she didn't even dream of. She found out that the saddest thing that schooling can do to a person is to take him or her away from discovering and fulfilling their true passion. Once passioned found, it is never too late for someone to pursue it and become good at it.
Right now, Yue is working at EdLab with amazing people and reinventing herself every day. She is reaching out to luminaries in education field and drawing for New Learning Times and looking for great contents for Vialogues.
