Shuguang Han is a graduate student in Information Science from University of Pittsburgh. He got his bachelor degree and master degree both from Wuhan University in China. He is interested in designing and implementing information retrieval systems that can help people finding information more efficiently and effectively. Recently, he is working on the people search problem, i.e. find the right people instead of find the right documents. He built a working system named PeopleExplorer, which can help PhD students explore the possible collaborators and thesis committee members through factor transparency and user control. He is also interested in topic modeling (for example, LDA and Author Topic Model), and Recommender system, with emphasis on effectively integrating heterogeneous information resources, such as the fusion of social networks information and the content information.
