Rebecca Hyams is a Long Island native, growing up less than an hour from New York City, and less than a half hour from the beach. She spent several years at Queens College (CUNY) in which she completed a BA in Music (2007), an MA in Music Theory (2009), and an MLS with a concentration in archives (2010). From July 2010-August 2011, Rebecca served as a sabbatical replacement for the head of the Queens College Music Library, managing and installing exhibits, cataloging, and doing library reference and instruction. Since leaving Queens College, she has been working part-time as a reference librarian at Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY and trying to navigate the library job market.
Professionally, she is interested in finding intuitive and simple ways to connect library users to the information they seek, and if she could vanquish all clip art from existence, she would do so.
