Janice Joo is an Innovation Fellow at EdLab. She began serving the education sector as a biomedical communicator, which alludes to her early experimentation with scientific education, and her subsequent training as a medical illustrator at the University of Toronto. However, she found herself trading in her pencils and ink wells... for programming data visualizations and interactive designs on the computer instead! Her Master's Research Project was a study of data analysis tools used in health research, stretching the possibilities of how "big data" can be navigated and understood to improve healthcare.
Janice's unique background in science and visualization, combined with her wide interests in music, art (in its many forms), design, and technology, coalsece to inspire her ideas at EdLab.
