Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Winnie landed on JFK airport at the age of 13. Upon completing her ESL class within six months, Winnie has been exhibiting her arduous and ambitious characters through her academic works and her commitments to different communities on the East Coast. She has been an avid volunteer as a program coordinator at Milal, a Christian evangelical outreach group to disabled adults and children. She has been a tutor, mentor and leader of its after-school programs. She has enjoyed planning field trips to the zoo, Water Park, and department stores where the disabled children find so much to learn.
Winnie is a rising junior in George Washington University, majoring in Human Services. Her major concentrates on the development of non-profit organizations and their contributions to the welfare of the community. She is excited and looking forward to her third year of college because of the new major classes she is taking and more volunteering opportunities she will find in Washington D.C. However, she is dreading about her organic chemistry class, which is a requirement course for all pre-med students, and MCAT, which she is planning to take about a year from now.
Winnie' s passion: HOMM ( heart of medical mission in Gambia, http://www.homm.org )
