Jina was born on a U.S. military base in Seoul, South Korea and has been raised in the United States since the age of four. Up until second grade, her family moved around frequently due to her father being in active duty in the U.S. Army. Her father was deployed in 2004 and toured in Iraq for a long year. She is exceptionally proud of her father’s contribution to America and has even thought of following in his footsteps. Her resolve in pursuing this dream came to a halt during her freshman year of college- when she came to terms with all of the sacrifices she needed to make for this vision to come true. Instead, she has now chosen to channel all her efforts into becoming a pharmacist.
Jina currently attends St. John’s University in Queens after graduating from Townsend Harris High School in 2005. She is part of the 6-year pharmacy program which, after successful completion, will provide her with a Pharm. D. degree. She will be going into her third year this coming August and is dreading the thought of Anatomy.
Upon graduation, she seeks to pursue a career in drug development and research. As a member of a private drug company, she hopes to help develop revolutionary and innovative drugs that will contribute to the increased comfort and health of people all over the world.
