Joyce Britton hails from Rochester, NY, where she has spent most her life, excluding four years at Grove City College, PA, earning a B.A. in English. There, she engaged in such wide-ranging activities as singing with the school's esteemed Touring Choir, acting in the bi-annual One Act Festivals, and editing the entertainment section of the school's newspaper. After a semester abroad in the U.K., her interests in writing, editing, and music convened during an internship at the renowned Ravinia Music Festival in Chicago, where she edited and wrote for the festival's weekly program magazine.
Since returning to Rochester, Joyce became immersed in local government and politics, winding her way through a town government office, a political committee, and two separate County departments. While she has frequently employed her writing and research capacities to a professional advantage, she is now excited to be a summer intern with the Development and Research Team at EdLab, and views the experience as a golden opportunity to foster and expand her mind in a cutting-edge, challenging environment that places particular emphasis on creativity and teamwork.
