This workshop will provide participants opportunities to learn about and apply data visualization to study and design learning spaces. Participants will learn how to use the Processing Programming Language to explore different types of geospatial data collected in learning spaces in settings ranging from classrooms to urban environments. Likewise, participants will learn and engage in discussion about different analytical perspectives to make sense of this data such as multi-modal learning analytics and interaction analysis. Participants will also learn how to collect and visualize geospatial data about themselves in ways that can support teaching and learning in different disciplines and are reflective of broader efforts across education to leverage personal to design learning environments. Participants with all levels of programming experience are welcome, but no prior programming experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring a computer and charger if possible.
