Interesting reflections on the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship I like the idea of "our collective ability to tap into our own innovation, passion, and empathy".... especially when aimed at social good.

Catalytic Communities is a not-for-profit organization working to destigmatize Rio de Janeiro's favela communities. They utilize technologies in interesting ways to get the word out about their work, and they have experimented with some interesting multiplicative teaching practices involving video and other forms of media. The annual social enterprise bootcamp, which is sponsored by Columbia's SIPA, NYU and SVA is happening November 16-17. Last year's bootcamp included a fabulous keynote speaker- the CEO of 7th Generation- and a bunch of sessions that focus on various phases and components of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise.

The New York Timeslaunches HTML5 Web App for iPad in an effort to appease subscribers' interest in trying new ways of reading the Times across a variety of platforms. Makes me think of another publication currently in soft launch.
