EdNode Rising?
This article sheds light on how some universities are creating their own social networking platforms. Highlighting Milwaukee School of Engineering's platform, MSOE Bridge, the piece notes these new social networks place the emphasis solely on students. It is in essence a way for the rest of a college community (e.g. admission and development officers) to “recruit, engage and retain students”. This reminded me a lot about EdNode and how we can potentially bring it back as one of our core products. EdNode was originally built to connect all members of the TC community (e.g. students, alumni and faculty). Specifically, to connect those seeking information (students) to those who are experts (faculty and alumni). In light of this current trend, what are some ways in which we can potentially rebuild EdNode to make it an important tool for the TC community? Should we focus solely on TC students?
