6 months of training
The physical training that a New York Police officer needs to go through in order to serve does seem to be very challenging. In addition to the physical requirements, police officers also have a take an analytical examination. I believe that the NYPD should require a higher level of education for prospective police officers. It is a job with great benefits but a very risky one as well. With all the immediate and longterm benefits, it should require at a bachelor's degree. It currently requires just 60 college credits, which I feel is a bit easy. I feel that two years is not enough to fully understand all the laws and regulations of the city.
