HTML5 Unconference
So open spaces was a new concept for me. What happens here is the audience can pick up the topic and then form groups to which other people join and then have a discussion. I proposed the topic of HTML5 Webworkers and had an interesting conversation with other attendees specifically about the use cases where it could be used. One of the attendees was from Microsoft (Justin) and he talked about how he is building an editor for Javascript (on Windows Azure cloud platform) and how he uses webworkers to do the heavy lifting of heavy background javascript tasks. There were other groups which discussed Javascript frameworks and why they use it. It was interesting to find how many software teams shied away from Angular just because of poor documentation (they used backbone). I guess that warrants the documentation for making a product.
