Talking to kids in the pandemic

With children away from school and friends, it is important to find ways to help them feel supported. Empowering language can go a long way. Doreen Arcus, a researcher on child development, suggests limiting exposure to the news, and placing a positive emphasis on why children’s regular routines have changed. To continue developing essential social-emotional skills, parents can set up video chats with friends and family, and encourage skill development through play.

IU senior advances to ‘Jeopardy!’ finals

Indiana University senior Tyler Combs won $32,800 in the first semifinal round of the "Jeopardy!" 2020 College Championship on Monday, after betting all he had on one question, for which the clue was: “This word for a concept in Eastern religions comes from Latin roots for ‘made in flesh’ and ‘again.’”  Combs correctly answered: “What is reincarnation?!”
