Warrantless Monitoring of Cell Phones

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="600"] The Stingray II allows law enforcement to monitor cell phones.[/caption] This article from the NY times describes how local law enforcement (and potentially others) can use equipment to monitor cell phones in an area, both cell phones of suspects and those of everyone else nearby.  A new body of law is developing to control use at least in some states.
