Big Brother Put To Good Use?
I recently came across an innovative band who used CCTV cameras to make a music video! Unable to afford a proper camera crew and equipment, The Get Out Clause, an unsigned band from the Manchester, England decided to make use of the 13 million+ CCTV cameras found in Britain. They set up their equipment, drum kit and all, in eighty locations around Manchester — including on a bus — and proceeded to play to the cameras. Afterwards they wrote to the companies or organizations involved and asked for the footage under the Freedom of Information Act. Check out the finished product here The video has become a hit sites like YouTube and brought the band large amounts of press (more than the song deserves!). It just goes to show that a good idea can be more valuable than anything else when it comes to creating novel and entertaining content.
