Learning Theater Spotlight: Kai Broderix

Having grown up amongst the dense forests of the German Palatinate, it’s no wonder that Kai Broderix spends his days both working with wood and doing it sustainably. Kai Broderix’s craftsmanship and bespoke commissions can be found in private and public spaces all across Australia, and since teaming up with San Francisco-based designer, Matt Taylor, Kai’s work can also be found in the Smith Learning Theater. Furniture pieces like curved, double-sided whiteboards and round, mobile tables not only help shape the aesthetic identity of the experimental learning space but serve as the silent partners in supporting every design workshop, immersive performance, networking event, and multimedia showcase that takes place there. Broderix hopes his unique creations inspire patrons to do equally unique work in a space where possibilities are endless.
