I want to remind everyone to vote in the New York primary election this Thursday, September 13th.
Because elections are usually on Tuesdays, there is expected to be an even lower turnout than usual, so be sure to remind your friends and family of the date as well.
This is an important one, as we will be electing a Governor, Attorney General, and multiple state Senate seats.
This has been a troublesome year for New York, because we have had several Democratic senators actually caucus against their party, as members of the Independent Democratic Conference, or IDC. These votes allowed Republicans to gain control of the senate, furthering Trump's agenda.
(Edie Falco explains it better than me!)

The most effective way to ensure voter turnout is to make a plan to vote prior to the date. The polls are open from 6am-9pm. I'm planning to vote in the morning, on my way to work. What's your voting strategy?
