Schools are recreating their classrooms to better prepare students for a technology based workforce. Advancements in technology can further drive the innovative ways in which students learn and think. One of these advancements should be coding, an emerging literacy trend that deserves notice. Students need to learn this new skill which is the basis of a new language that software and web pages are built on. As the number of computer science related jobs continue to increase, there is a need for students to learn programming skills and coding, which is built on creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking. This would also allow students to develop computational thinking and better prepare them for tomorrow.
