Playable Knowledge from a New Online Journal

Here is a very interesting, newly launched online journal Distill on machine learning research. Unlike other academic journals that provide mostly and only static knowledge in texts, figures and/or visualizations, articles in this online journal aim to

integrate explanation, code, data, and interactive visualizations into a single environment. In such an environment, users can explore in ways impossible with traditional static media. They can change models, try out different hypotheses, and immediately see what happens. That will let them rapidly build their understanding in ways impossible in traditional static media (read more).

These articles and formats reimagine and may redefine academic publications for usable knowledge. Check out this article, for instance, Experiments in Handwriting with a Neural Network.
