NYU Poly Pushes For More STEM
New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering (NYU Poly) recently received $3.5 million to support the NYU Center for K12 STEM Education. This is an initiative to train 500 New York City teachers in the STEM subjects. Thanks to a 2.5 million National Science Foundation (NSF) Discovery Research grant, a year round teacher training program will be created in the field of robotics. In addition, technology venture capitalist Joanne and Fred Wilson gave NYU a $1-million gift to equip teachers with the skills to prepare students for STEM studies in college. The future of STEM in New York City is looking bright!
