More Schools are Shifting to Digital Textbooks
The rise of technology and need for better ways to educate students means more schools are shifting from hardcover textbooks to digital textbooks. Thousands of colleges and universities textbooks are offered online and are also available on Appleā€™s iTunes U store for download at respective purchase prices. The price of an online textbook is very convenient compared to hardcover textbooks. Tablet computers offers better advantages such connectivity to internet, large touch screen display and can function as powerful graphing calculators, video players, and photo editors, all of which can help students. However, the use of tablets in an education setting might distract many students from completing their tasks. With thousands of online games, students can be easily distracted and that might eventually lead to a misunderstanding of the subject matter. The use of technology to educate students is a good idea but educators need to make sure students stay focus and are learning.
