Faisal Anwar is a Learning Technologies Architect within the Development & Research division at the Edlab. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in Economics and Education at Teachers College Columbia University. His academic and professional work focuses on conceptualizing, designing and deploying technologies to improve student learning. In this capacity, he is leading the development of various adaptive instructional systems and interactive online learning environments at the Edlab. He is also actively researching policy and pedagogical constraints that drive the adoption of new educational innovations in different learning contexts. Prior to Teachers College Columbia University, Faisal worked as a senior engineer at Oracle Corporation and taught mathematics at the high school level. He holds B.S. and M.Eng. degrees from MIT and an M.Ed. degree in education policy from Harvard University.
