Most recently from Paris—with around twenty previous addresses, including one on Governor’s Island—Rebekah is the 2012 Future of Libraries summer intern at EdLab. She graduated with a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011, following a B.A. in English from Grove City College. After successful internships with various libraries, such as the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the American Library in Paris, she is looking forward to another opportunity for professional development at EdLab on her quest to become a librarian of the future. She is fascinated by the intersection of education, technology, and creativity, and her interests include multiplatform storytelling, digital literacy, media ecology, and strategic planning. In addition to libraries, she enjoys poetry, blues music, Storycorps, and bumbleberry pie.
