Avichal comes from northern part of India. He is currently pursuing his Master’s from Columbia University under Electrical Engineering Department. His interest and experience has been into fields like Web Application Development (includes creating User interface, business logic and working with backend database), Cloud Computing – working over Amazon Cloud and Google App Engine and Physical to Virtual Migration to Cloud and Application specific Hardware Optimization . He has been working for Columbia Business School as Casual Web Developer since October 2011.He also worked for Infosys Technologies, India as Systems Engineer for 2 years. He did his undergraduate from VIT, Vellore - India in Telecommunication Engineering. Since 2009, he is professionally developing Web Applications for clients like BP Global, Infosys Technologies, Columbia Business School, ISERP- Columbia University, and Columbia Dodge Centre. He also did tutoring under Columbia Dodge Centre for subjects like Engineering Mathematics and Physics during fall 2011.


Recent Projects

- Performance and Compatibility of JavaScript Web Workers over various mobile browsers across mobile OS like Android, Blacberry, Windows, IOS and Symbian.

- Migration to Cloud - This project involved using tools like Vmware vCentre vConverter, Quest vConverter, PlateSpin Migrate and Double Take Move for migrating physical servers to the cloud.

- He has been working over another two interesting projects - Online Tutoring System for Columbia Dodge and Educational Video Broadcasting over Television and Radio (with Basudev Chowdhury- PhD, Purdue University).
