Yana Kehrlein is a French-American filmmaker and visual artist. Raised in Marseilles, he studied Philosophy at Université de Provence before moving to Montreal, Canada where he pursued Visual Art at Concordia University and worked at an educational center for adults with severe physical disabilities. He has won numerous awards for his unique digital artwork (including the Gabor Silazi prize in Photography and the Millennium Scholarship), and has had multiple solo exhibitions in Canada and Europe, with a recent large scale public installation in Oslo, Norway and Quebec, Canada. He currently resides in New York City, where he is completing his MFA in Film at Columbia University, teaching documentary, and working as a video producer for EdLab at Teachers College to promote and develop new tools and strategies for the future of education.
