I happened to come across an infographic designed by The George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs as part of their Face the Facts USA project, which analyzes an interesting fact relevant to the country each day for a hundred days. This infographic was fact number 18 and it details the long term benefits associated with having a college degree.

Wow i can't believe the tuition is so high. I'm curios why would the tuition be so high if the students don't actually pay the full tuition.

Since its a private institution, they have to factor in a lot of factors in determining their annual tuition fee and in the case of this school, it happened to be well over 60 thousand year (probably will reach 70 thousand in a couple of years from now).

All I can say is wow.....I'm amazed that a school I never heard of charges more than Yale, one of the most prestigious in the country. I wonder if Washington University has really really good financial aid or something, considering that one year of tuition/room/board is more than double the average debt load of students for four years (or more) of education....

I agree, I ended up shocked on how much they cost. I never heard of that university either. Most likely financial aid covers most of it, if not students will be there for just a semester.

It's most likely that they offer a pretty good financial aid package. An admissions officer once told me that no one really pays the full official cost of tuition. In my opinion, colleges should just list the average tuition paid by students because the listed price tag can scare some students off. I almost didn't apply to the school I'm currently attending because the official cost of tuition was way over my range.
