Collecting sneakers is fast becoming one of the most common things to do. I'm participating in the Vialogues Olympics and the first video of the "Sneakerheads" documentary 1/3" was very interesting. In this second video, I noticed how important collecting sneakers have really become and some people run a high risk of getting robbed.

I am one of those ardent sneaker collectors. Never have I got to the point where I can chose a collection over family, friend, or a girlfriend. I’ve come to also realize that you cannot become addicted to this unless you have a lot of money. It's very hard to keep up with a specific sneaker collection, especially since most come out every week. I believe this has a cure, but I can't seem to think of one though. How can someone with 700+ sneakers stop buying more? Is this the worst addiction you have heard of? What do you collect and is it an obsession? Please watch this second video and share your own thoughts on this addiction.

I don't think I'll ever understand why people spend so much money on sneakers. As for me, I am satisfied with having a couple of comfortable sneakers I can rely on.

Interesting blog Franky. I think an addiction to a specific thing start off when you buy many models of the same product just because you want to stay styled up. Most teenagers nowadays, including me buy sneakers because the person next to have it or we want people to notice us as we walk by, which is not necessary. Addiction to sneakers can be avoid when you realize the ones you have home are enough and you start minimizing you wants, getting rid of your desires and focusing just on you need, something hard to do.

Yes I agree with you, it is something hard to do. What I do when I want to buy sneakers and know I don't need them I make a list. My list shows things I need and things I want, I see the difference and tell myself that I couldn't get what I need if I get what I want, because sneakers can be expensive.

Nice way to differentiate your need from your wants. I think we should all start by forgetting our wants because they are irrelevant to our lives and sneakers addiction can lead you not to save any money for important things you might want to do one day.

Francisco, nice blog because I can relate to this a lot. I think I'm really addicted to snapback hats as I don't wear any other kinds of hats. I have already started collecting different kinds and don't know where it will end.

Well I love having matching hats or snapback hats with my sneakers. It's best to stop buying them if you feel you have enough because that can cost you a lot of money.
