Check out Teen Voices Magazine, a feminist magazine started by a Boston organization (Wellesley alums). They mentor the girls and assist them in all contributions (everything is written by teens), host conferences, offer incentives, and foster dialogue, dissent, critique, all kinds of awesome educational and empowering stuff. Has a very clear vision and realizes it beautifully, I think. It's nothin' fancy, but might serve as inspiration if not a model for EdLab.

Scanning by just the title is pretty much what RSS does for me. In my RSS reader, I quickly scan through the titles and see if anything is interesting. If not, then I don't bother clicking on the article. I guess it's the tech savvy way of judging a book by its cover. I agree with Dan that this depends on the source of information. There's a lot of presumption going on, but I guess we all do it. In the end, it's all about efficiency of time, so why spend a few minutes reading something you probably know is not interesting by reading its title.

I know I didn't talk about the actual topic of the blog post, but I'm blaming that on Dan for leading me there!

I love it! This is certainly a publication I would have loved reading in high school. I think everything from the content, to the colors, to the design are very well targeted at the young and curious female/activist population. I am intrigued!
