Hi all,

Calli and I put together a survey today as part of a project to develop a new online research tool for college students.

We were hoping that those of you in the lab who have experience putting together surveys and performing this type of research might give us some feedback on any questions about the research process you think are missing or any other thoughts you might have.

The link to the survey is here:

You can click through pages without answering questions or submitting results.

Thanks so much!

Hi Rebekah: FYI, Prof. Charles Kinzer at TC once compiled an extensive reference list about how to do research in electronic environment (E-research) if you would be interested in exploring further in this direction:

Hello Rebekah -

Sounds like a super cool project. Two things come to mind:

-I wonder about the role of browser features - how important tabs are, how important bookmarking is - as its the looking glass...

-Also, I wonder what percentage of a research process is conducted online for those larger projects that don't explicitly require solely online research.

-oh, and how often people rely on social tools like diggs, amazon star-ratings for books ...

Thanks Jeff!
Those are all really helpful ideas. I was definitely thinking about the offline/online research split for large projects, but neglected to include it in the survey. We're also planning a more in-depth focus group phase of this project, so we'll be able to include all of these great details.

Thanks again,
Rebekah
