Topic: Kinems: Towards the Improvement of Cognitive, Motoric, and Academic Skills of Students with Special Education Needs Using Individualized Movement-Based Learning Games

Description: Kinems movement-based educational gaming platform, based on occupational therapy protocols, utilizes Microsoft’s Kinect camera to effectively measure ongoing progress in kinesthetic learning activities. Presenters will provide an interactive demonstration of the application and present research studies which show that their movement-based educational gaming approach can help children with high incidence learning disabilities improve academic performance in math & language, executive functioning in attention, memory, and problem-solving as well as visual-motor coordination.
